Keep your Astral Windows looking their best.
Your Astral products are finished with high performance materials and quality hardware.
Like any premium product, regular maintenance is essential to protect your investment and maintain your warranty. Regular care and maintenance will ensure your Astral Windows and Doors continue to perform beautifully and operate smoothly for many years.
Failure to follow these guidelines may affect your warranty.
Interpon Powder Coatings (used on Astral products) requires that coatings be cleaned in accordance with the above intervals and that a record of cleaning be kept to validate the powder coating warranty.
More frequent cleaning may be required in extreme conditions.

Glass care
Glass care
High performance glass is durable but should be cleaned with care.
- Use clean water, a mild detergent and a soft, lint-free cloth, sponge or squeegee.
- Avoid abrasive materials or sharp blades that may scratch the surface.
- Do not use strongly alkaline cleaners, acidic solutions, or products containing hydrofluoric acid.
- Remove labels or stickers promptly.
- Protect glass from concrete, paint, mortar, welding sparks and metal filings.
- Extra care is required for coated and low-e glass – consult your glazier for specific cleaning advice.
Hardware & moving parts
Regular maintenance of hardware will ensure smooth operation and extend the life of moving parts.
- Lubricate hinges, locks and other moving components at least once every 12 months using a silicone-based spray.
- Do not use oil or grease as it can attract dirt and cause build-up.
- Tighten visible screws if required. Do not over-tighten.
- Adjustments may be required over time as the building naturally settles.
- If a window or door is difficult to operate, contact your installer for adjustment.
Tracks, drainage and sliding systems
Keeping tracks and drainage clear is essential for performance.
- Regularly clean sliding door and window tracks with a soft brush or vacuum.
- Remove dirt, leaves, sand and debris from tracks and drainage channels.
- Ensure drainage holes and weep holes remain clear and unblocked at all times.
- Do not allow dirt or debris to build up in the track as this can affect operation and cause damage.
- Do not block or cover drainage holes.
Construction & protection
Protecting your windows during construction will prevent damage and make cleaning easier.
- Protect glass and frames from cement splashes, paint, welding sparks and abrasive materials.
- Use protective film and remove promptly after completion.
- Clean off any contaminants immediately – the longer they are left, the harder they are to remove.
- Do not scrape or use sharp objects to remove residue.
